Vacation Hurricane

We're finally here at the beach and checked into our condo. But, for the next few days we will be spending our time inside because there is a hurricane headed our way! This is somewhat exciting, but also a little scary for people who have lived in Colorado all our lives and dont really know how to handle this kind of weather!

According to the news, Hurricane Dolly will be hitting South Texas a little after midnight tonight but will be hitting a town pretty far south from us called Brownsville. We will get some intense rain/thunderstorms and wind here tomorrow and the following few days but it should be gone by Friday.

As of now though, we're just sitting here waiting and watching. In some ways it will be kind of interesting to watch the major changes in the weather since I've never seen or been around weather like this! Could be interesting! I'll keep this updated!

Best Friends

My best friend and I met when we were three years old. I was with my friend Matt at the time riding my big wheel when I saw her down the street and she was also on a big wheel. Matt and I decided to go down the street to meet this girl, but every time we got close she would run up her driveway and hide. She'd peek out, but always run and hide. After a few times Matt and I got bored and went home. Soon after Brooke's mom was knocking on our door wanting to meet us because Brooke had said there were kids down the street. We've been friends ever since and that was seventeen years ago.
(I'm on the left on my bigwheel and Brooke is on the left.)

We both lived a few houses down from each other and we walked to and from school together everyday all throughout elementary school. I went with her every summer to Taylor Reservoir to go camping since I was in second grade. We loved going camping and even created our special spot. We came across this tree with some strange disease and has been known as the "butt tree." Here's two pics from when we were little to when we went back at about fourteen/fifteen.
<

Every Christmas morning after opening presents we would call each other to tell one another what all we got and then meet up as soon as we could to play. We each became apart of each other's family.

When I was thirteen I was invited to go with her and her family to Texas where her family is from. I begged and begged my Dad for a week to let me go on this trip and he finally gave me the okay. Since then I've been going with her family to the beach every year. It's tradition!

When we were sixteen she was invited with my family to spend Thanksgiving in Cancun Mexico. We had so much fun that year! It was another fantastic memory to add to our list. While we were there we snorkled, did excursions, went in underground caves, found a starfish, and of course ate the best Mexican food ever! We even snuck into a club with my family and were there with my family and parents until 2am! It was a blast.

Brooke later moved from our hometown to good ol Denver when we were in our teens. That was one of the hardest things for the both of us. But we've done a great job and scheduling trips to see each other. It was only a five hour trip. But then we each got older and soon Brooke went off to college and is now eighteen hours away! Still, we have managed to remain best friends.

Brooke and I have shared so many things and memories with each other we're close enough to be sisters. She is the one person who has been around me since I was very small and she knows me so well. The same thing goes for my side. We have our differences, thats for sure, but in the end we remain as close as ever.

Vacation is Coming Up!

In a week I will be heading to Denver to start my long trip to South Padre Island Texas with my best friend and some of her family.

Normally we stay for a week but this time we're staying for ten days! And I am so ready for this vacation! I'm ready to not care what time I go to bed or wake up in the morning. Or not having to get ready in the morning! All I'll have to do is throw on my swimsuit and spend my day by the pool or on the beach lying in the sun. :)

And isn't it true that time flies when you're having fun? I'll definitely be having a blast, meaning that two whole weeks will FLY by and the closer it'll put me to seeing Paul. These next few weeks will be so much fun and I'm so excited!

We stay at this resort called Port Royal that is amazing! And such a family place too. It has four pools that are all connected by waterfalls, two swim-up bars that serve awesome hamburgers, and a long boardwalk that meets right up with the white sandy beach!

The small town also has an amazing Jetti not too far from out resort. I had never heard of a jetti until I started going on this trip, but they are pretty cool. They're basically just a very long, wide rock sidewalk that goes out into the ocean. Last year we all got up really early before the sun came up and walked to the end to watch the sun rise. Brooke and I complained about being up so early but it was so worth it. We watched the sun rise and got to the end and sat down to rest and this huge huge cargo ship was just leaving. So we were watching this humongous boat leave and there at the front of the ship were about four dolphins jumping! And of course none of us had our cameras, but they stayed right at the end of the jetty even after the ship left! They just swam around coming up every once in awhile and playing with each other. Oh they were so awesome to watch. I think we'll do that again this year, but WITH our cameras!

There are also some very good restaurants down the highway that we make a point to go to. One is called Virginia's and the actual dining room is on the water right where the boats dock. Another favorite is The Pelican's Landing, or a new one we tried just last year called The Big Kahuna. I'm not a seafood person, so I stick to the land food side of the menu. :) But each of those restaurants have awesome food!

I have been going with my best friend Brooke and her family for five or six years now and we can't stay away! It's become a tradition that's for sure! But a good one, because it gives us time to catch up since we're both getting older and we each have our own lives. We've been on a bunch of family trips in the past and we always have a ball. She went with us one time to Cancun Mexico for Thanksgiving and we were both just 16....oh yeah that was fun. We have some great memories from all our trips, and we always add new ones each year.

Sounds Good To Me!

What the Beach Test Says About You
You like people, but you're careful about who you get close to. Friendship is important to you... so important that you aren't just friends with anyone.

You fall in love with ease and confidence. Even if you've had bad experiences in the past, each new love is a reason to start completely over.

You are deeply passionate about several things in your life. You're not passionate about much... and the few passions you have are truly obsessions.

Your sense of humor is very physical. Your facial expressions or spot on imitations of people are hilarious.

My Plant

This....is my plant. I just got it yesterday evening. I was over at my sister's, I saw it, felt bad for it, and so here it is at my house. I'm really not a green thumb type of person, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Let's pray to God I don't kill it, because at this point if I kill it I will be so upset and even more depressed!

I brought it home and it sits on a little end table at the end of my couch by the window where it can get some sunlight. It just looked so sad and lonely at my sister's, so we'll see if he's happier looking out the window.

The only other plants I've had were ones that looked like small palm trees at my dad's house, but he always watered them for me. So they always were full, green, and lush. Hopefully I can make this little plant look a little better. It kind of reminds me of the Charlie Brown Christmas tree! Dont you think?!

Well we'll give it a shot, and see how it turns out. Once again...lets pray it doesn't poop out on me!

What I've Always Wanted to Tell You

Tonight when I was getting re-settled into my room from being gone all weekend I came across this book. It's a book I bought about a year ago for Paul and I and it's called Couples: A Record Book About Us! It's just something cute and fun to do together. When we sat down to fill it all in we came across a part that was titled, "Things I've always Wanted to Tell You." We decided to each come up with a page telling each other this. I was nervous, but Paul wasn't at all.

So back to my original story...I came across this book tonight and skimmed through it laughing of things we wrote down and I flipped to the page of "Thing I've Always Wanted to Tell You." I had totally forgotten about this! Our dropped a yellow piece of paper with his writing on it saying this:

"I have always told you that I love you and that you're the prettiest girl I've ever known. I should have always told you that you are the air in my every breath an the reason for my every thought and that you're more beautiful than any sunrise. I should have told you that when I look into your eyes, I see everything I've ever wanted and the only thing I'll ever want again. I see the reason to be everything I can. I see the best thing that has ever happened to me and a lifetime of oppurtunity to be even happier than I am now...."

Am I not the luckiest girl alive?! Stumbling across this right after hearing his voice on the phone just made me smile so big. He is a keeper, that's for sure. I dont want to be too sappy around here so I cut the end off ,but I just had to share my happiness!

Because

Because your nose wrinkles when you laugh,
Because your face laughs when your heart smiles,
Because your eyes light up in the sun
And talk even when your lips do not.
Because your ears listen to more that what is spoken,
And your eyes see more than what is shown,
Because you speak before spoken to,
And care without meaning to.
Because your head tells you what you need to do,
But your heart tells you what you ought to do,
And because you always listen to your heart first.
Because you look your best just for me,
Because to me, you always look your best,
And because for this one, you're the only one,
Is the reason I love you.
Paul wrote this for me last fall and had snuck it in my school binder for me to find later. :)

I Love Thursday's!!

**THURSDAY'S!!!!!!**

Thursday's seem to be the day's I get letters from the love of my life who is down in Officer Candidates School in Virginia. Since he left, Thursday's have been the letter days! Today I recieved my third letter from him and each time they get longer and longer. This one is three pages long and I loved reading what all he had to say. His letters are such a moral booster for me as I'm sure mine are for him. :) Right off the bat he told me how much he misses me and that that's the hardest thing he's doing right now. He also made some promises to me for when he gets home!! ;) I can't wait!

He said he's been doing great and is adjusting well. They're keeping him busy, but he expected that. He also said that he's been getting A's on his leadership test's! He's doing so well, and I'm so proud. Even though, this is by far one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I miss him so much I just can't tell him enough. I think in every letter I write him I tell him that so many times!

Today also marks the three week point. Three weeks ago this evening he left and the last thing he said was, "Ok babe....I'll talk to you in three weeks." Well here we are, and I think he gets to use his phone either tomorrow night or Saturday morning. Either way my phone will be on loud and by my side 24/7 this weekend just impatiently waiting for "My Love" to show up on my caller ID and for our song to play. I haven't heard that ringtone in so long! And just to hear his voice will make me so happy. I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it!

I think after we are able to talk every weekend it'll make the time go by so much faster. Plus, my best friend is FINALLY coming home from Africa tomorrow and will be coming to live with me sometime next week. That will also help time go by. I've been so alone lately! My poor body has taken such a dive since Paul left. My sleep is off schedule, my car has broken down more than once and has been in the shop at least five times, and now for no apparent reason I have developed these insane hives all over! It's been crazy around here lately. *sigh* But, thats all about to change.

Tomorrow I'm planning on staying home until my poor apartment is totally clean! I've let it go to the dumps this past week and it's gross. Paul would've killed me by now or just got sick of telling me it's disgusting and cleaned it for me. Isn't he the sweetest? :) I think the cleaning will make me feel better too. Then I plan on heading home to spend time with my momma. She's alone for two weeks, since her husband is out of town on business. It'll be a good time!

Well here are some pictures of my future Marines Officer I found on the website. I've been scoping him out ever since I discovered the website, and just today did I find him! I can't believe how bald he is! Paul always has quite a bit of hair! Curly hair at that! And now it's TOTALLY gone! :(

I was able to spot him in the crowd because of his tiny little ears! I Love them!

The pic to the right is Paul's Company learning Martial Arts of some kind. He his the third guy up from the end. He also has some kind of wound on his arm from who knows what. He'll probably be excited to bring home a scar from Marines Boot Camp. :)

So the pic to the left- Paul in the the second row and the first guy in line. He's the extremely short looking one! He's really not that short, but he looks that way because all the other guys are way taller.

We now have 52 days left until we are able to have eachother in our arms. :) According to the letter he wrote his parents he's counting down the days just like me! 52 days honey! We can make it! I Love you!

Daddy's girl and Some Stories

This week I have been blessed and have gotten the chance to spend quite a bit of time with my dad. My dad's work schedule is always unknown until the day of, so it's hard to find the time when we're both off or have the time to get together. But this week he stayed the night at my house and I got to make him dinner! I think that made him proud. All those times he thought I wasnt listening...I really was.

When my parents divorced, my relationship with my Dad grew to a whole new level. We became closer, we talked more, and I decided that I wanted to live with him. So from about the 7th grade up until I graduated I lived with my Dad. I saw my mom a lot too, but lived with him. And throughout that entire time and even now I realize how important a good Dad is to his daughter. Same thing with mothers and their sons. From the beginning of our lives our parents are our first opposite sex relationships. If the father isn't around or involved in his daughters life I think it makes a significant difference in her as a person and in her choices.

I once had this friend who had never really had a "good" father figure in her life. Her mom was constantly re-marrying and divorcing. So all the men she had in her house weren't there long enough for her to develop any kind of relationship with them. Plus, the men her mom had weren't very nice guys anyways. So all her life she just kept seeing men coming and going. As a result of this, I think, she had made some bad choices in guys she dated and had bad relationships. She's now her mom, and always having fling relationships. And every time she is with a new guy, she swears he's "The One". Every time. But of course...they never last.

I think this is all a result of never having a good stable father figure in her life. I mean, your dad is the first guy you meet in your life! You learn from them and you watch them. They're always there to protect you, guide you, help you, and teach you what you're supposed to be treated like by a guy. You watch your dad get flowers for your mom, or say he loves her. You see that as a child, and pick up on things like that. When it comes down to it, your Dad is the one who gives your boyfriend permission to marry you right? (Most of the time. I would hope guys still ask permission.)

And I always wonder when you see girls on MTV shows that are doing naughty things with guys on NATIONAL television, the girls in naughty films, or especially the Playboy Bunnies...what do you think their fathers are thinking when they see that? I always think of that. I mean especially the show "Girls Next Door" where there are all these tiny beach blonde girls who kiss Hugh Hefner's feet and devote their lives to him?! Wow honey you've done a lot with yourself! Even the girls that work at Hooters...????? I mean what do you say to your parents? "Mom, Dad guess what! I got a job today! I got a job at Hooters!" I could NEVER do something like that to my parents. I would be so ashamed of myself!

I guess I just dont get it. Maybe those are the girls who didn't have good father figures in their lives. Who knows. But my heart does go out to those girls who dont have one. They are missing out on so much fun! I adore my Dad so much, and would be so lost without him. He is always there to fix something, spend time together, help out, or just talk. And he is one of the best listeners ever.

I will gladly admit that I am a Daddy's Girl. My dad and I have such a great relationship. I know I stress and worry him a little sometimes, but it keeps him on his toes. :) I remember the first time I got a flat tire and he was so excited it happened so that he could show me how to change a tire. (Real fun) This was in the evening and we're in the garage and he asks me to use that tool to take off the bolt things. And he tells me that sometimes you have to kind of jump/bounce on it to get them loose at first. So here I am...I step up and he just drops his head and then gives me this look like, "Ugh...Nicole...." I laugh and say, "what's wrong?" He looks down at my shoes and says, "Go into the house and get some different shoes Nicole geez." I was wearing these flip flops with a little bit of a heel and on the staps they were black with yellow pineapples on them! Not the best shoes for changing a tire. And my response to him was, "Dad, what if this happens to me in the middle of nowhere and these are my only shoes? We have to make this as real as possible!" We just laughed at one another, but I will never forget that.

Or all of our driving lessons. Father and daughter driving lessons are the greatest! Or just anything having to do with a car. Here's another great one for ya! (And yes, these are the actual shoes!!!)

Okay-so I had been driving for a year or so and it was summer time. I was leaving this summer job I had working at the high school with a mentally disabled elementary student. My best friend was waiting for me and I had had a rough time with the student that day so I was a little stressed out. I was on my cell phone with Brooke, and driving kinda fast on the back residential streets behind the school. Well here I am driving, speeding, and at the last minute I see this sign, "DIP". I hit the brakes a little to late to miss that dip and man did I hit that thing!! It was bad. I could've sworn I lost my bumper. I yell at Brooke that I have to call her back because I think I just lost my bumper and I pull over. I get out and look at the front of my poor car. To me, everything looked fine! I thought, "Sweet! It wasn't bad at all!" But I wasn't going to tell my Dad.

About a month later, my wonderful dad is changing my oil and has the car jacked up in the garage and I hear him yell, "NICOLE!!!! GET OUT HERE!!!" I walk out there and he asks me to get on the floor on my back and look at my car. I did and didn't see a thing. He points to my frame and there are HUGE scrapes in the frame of my car. So then I had to tell him about the Dip. He looks at me and says, "Geez Coley...if you would've done this at night the person behind you would've seen sparks! Will you slow down next time?!"

"Sure thing Dad! Sorry bout that!" But I wasn't out of it yet...he calls me back out and has me look under the car again. This time it was to show me that I hit that darn dip so hard not only did I scrape the crap out of my frame, but that I had BROKEN my windshield wiper fluid box!! Yeah...Dad wasn't too happy about that one, but now he laughs. He always tells me that I dont need to be going Mach 1 driving down town. :)

Something to Read

Andy Rooney said on '60 Minutes' a few weeks back:
I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, which is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.

I have the right 'NOT' to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off. When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word 'freeze' or 'stop' in English, see the above lines.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I don't hate the rich I don't pity the poor. I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid, and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say 'NO!'

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me french fries!

I am sick of 'Political Correctness.' I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa; so how can they be 'African-Americans'? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe.

I am proud to be from America and nowhere else. And if you don't like my point of view, tough... I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL! And what about CANADIANS - We feel the same. Bravo for the Canadians too!!!

I'm not sure if Andy Rooney really said this or not. It was an email that went around my work. I think he has some good points and just wanted to share!

Finally an Address!!

I've finally had the chance to get back to my computer and get caught up. It's been crazy and pretty down here lately! This was my first week back to work from my vacation to see Paul off, and back to reality I guess. All week my goal has been to recieve Paul's address. Each day I didn't get it I was so bummed. I went grocery shopping alone Sunday night (Paul usually goes with me and I always complain to him that he is the worse cart driver ever because he's never where I need him to be! But he insists the guy has to drive the cart. Ugh..) and it was pretty sad without him!

I had problems at work this week with my co-worker and then to top it all off my car broke down! So, I was pretty down in the dumps this week. Until Thursday right when I got off work did things start to lighten up a bit. Paul's wonderful mother called me to tell me she recieved something from Paul that had his address on it!

I couldn't get home fast enough to check that mail box. Before I could check it, I had to go get my car that was ready for me to pick up! It was a cheap fix too. :) I drove home and stopped at the mailbox. I opened it and there was a little envelope waiting there with Paul's handwriting on it! I grabbed it and started jumping up and down...in the rain!
I wasn't expecting an actual letter from him, but there it was! It's a short one, but that didn't matter to me.

Getting that tiny piece of paper that had him telling me he missed and loved me made my day. It boosted my spirits so much! Who knew one little piece of mail could make someone so happy and excited huh?

I already had his 3 page letter and other things in an envelope stamped and ready to go and it's now sent off in the mail today!

Communicating only through letters is kind of a bittersweet thing. I hate it because it's slow and I know he's probably so tired that writing is the last thing he wants to do. But it's also kind of romantic in a way. It makes you realize how easy we have it today with cell phones, email, radio etc. When really not that long ago letters and the mail system was all these military guys had. Plus, recieveing mail from him or someone you love thats in the service makes you feel so loved because you know that they took the time to write that. Whether it's a page long or a few sentences, it's still so exciting.

And I'm sure it's probably the same feeling for them when they recieve letters from family. I hope Paul smiles when he gets my mail and knows he has TONS of people and family back here in Colorado who miss him like crazy! Maybe it'll be motivation from him or a moral booster like it was for me. :) That's what I hope at least.
As of today, I have 65 days left until I can have him back in my arms. And in two more weeks, we'll be able to finally talk on the phone and my best friend will be back from her trip to Africa. I'll get two people I love the most back at the same time! I think all of this will get easier from then on.
Before I go, I just want to say that I give so much credit to the couples out there in America that are apart because their significant other is away on active duty or in Iraq. My situation isn't anywhere near that, and I cant imagine how hard that must be. I wish them the best of luck and all the happiness.

Lazy Day is Coming Up!

Paul and I decided that on Friday we're going to have the best lazy day ever. We will both be done with finals by then and neither of us have to work, so we're going to sleep in and get together when we wake up and start out lazy day! We're going to watch movies, play games, and of course...eat!

On our lazy day menu we have;

Crackers and cheese, soda, ice cream, popcorn, puppy chow (the kind with chocolate, peanut butter, chex and powder sugar.), and rice krispie treats that we'll make together. And then of course in the evening we're going to take a walk to walk off all the bad things we ate all day. ;)

I'm really really looking forward to this day! I have all this yummy food in my fridge just waiting for Friday. We even went to the great lengths of renting a playstation for the week and two games for our special day! (we are not nintendo game people at all!) We thought it'd be a fun time!
So I only have three days until I get to enjoy all of this, and I'm trying to be as patient as possible!

Sunday, May 11, 2008

This weekend I was able to spend the day with my daddy. We had lunch with my sister, Paul and my niece, did some shopping, and then I was supposed to drop him off at the race track. Drag racing that is.

Since I can remember we have always gone to watch the races, and before I was born my dad was actually racing. It's just kind of been in the family forever and it's something we all enjoy doing together.

So, to continue my weekend story, I went up there to drop him off and I heard the rumble of the engines revving up, tires doing burn outs, and the smell...oh the smell! Some people may not like it, but I love it. It brings back so many memories! It's a smell mixed of alcohol, and car exhaust is the best way to describe it. And let's just say that I didn't just drop my dad off. :) Nope! Instead I decided to go on in for just a bit and watch.

It was so great! I miss going to those races! The best was always going to Denver for the Super Chevy Show. It meant for a long hot day, but it was all worth it when the Nitro Coupes, and the Jet Cars. Watching those cars go down the 1/4 mile track in 6 seconds at 240mph is amazing!

The Jet Cars are the best. Here's a car with an actual jet engine either in the middle of the car or on one side. These cars can make 1/4 mile race in 5 seconds! And it's SO loud you can feel everything in your chest.

If you ever have the chance to go, definitely go. It's an awesome experience!!

Church and Summertime

Paul is Catholic, and for a year now I've been going to Mass with him every Sunday. I dont mind learing it, because I dont have anything to lose and I want to learn! I promised him that I would immerse myself when summer started and school was out. Well... we have one week left and I'm trying to figure out where to start! I have his parents to help me out, and I have a few great books as well. But my problem is that I'm not sure what to do with it once I've finished one of the books. Do I keep a journal with my questions? I ahve all these things about it flying around in my mind. But I do know that I'm going to try my absolute hardest to study, study, study this summer! Wish me luck!!

Time is Shortening

Now that Paul is for sure going into this OCS program, it has actually hit me that he's leaving me in four weeks. I've known this was going to happen since the end of October but I think I put it in the back of my mind until now. Nothing else has been on my mind as much as being without him for the summer. Everything we do, everywhere we go, things we laugh at, going to mass together, seeing him smile, or just having his amazing personality around me is going to be so hard for me. Paul and I are very close and we are very much in love with each other. So I'm trying to look at this as absence makes the heart grow fonder kinda thing. The part that will keep me going is thinking of when he graduates and I can run down to him and jump into his arms and never let go. I also have to remember that this isnt forever, and he's doing it to better himself and us for the future. *sigh*
I never thought this would be in the plans for my life, but what can ya do? I don't really like it but I can't just say, "Well Paul it was fun! Love ya!" and leave. I'm choosing to support and stick by his side. I realize why he's doing it and why he wants to do it. I guess for awhile I'll have to be a Marine Officer girlfriend! And be proud of my man! And when he's out there serving us and our country I'll support him and pray to God every day that he is kept safe and returns to me. Ugh... it's going to be rough!
I Love you Paul.

It's Official!

Well it's finally official. My boyfriend has FINALLY been accepted into the Marine Officer Program. (OCS) This means he will leave me for two and a half months to do his training in Virginia. He'll come back home finish school and then give his three and a half years of service to our country. Yes, I am sad but at the same time so happy the anticipation is over of waiting to see if he's in or out. And I'm very proud that he's doing this and was accepted into this highly competitive program. The next few months will be extremely rough but I'll be tough and make it to the end.

My Angry Boots

I have recently come up with a new thing for myself and it's called Putting on My Angry Boots! For some reason or another I am SO submissive. If someone is yelling or mad at me I never fight back for stand up for myself. I always let them say what they have to say and then get angry later on that I didn't say anything back. I always come up with comebacks after the incident has happened. But if for some rare reason I do happen to lash back at the person, I always walk away feeling bad. I feel like a mean person, and trust me I'm anything but a mean person! But it is so frustrating that I can't say anything back to defend myself. I feel like such a push over! But recently I've come up with this new term for myself so I can get prepared to defend myself! Puttin' on My Angry Boots!!

Since the start of this term it has been helpful one time. (It's a pretty new term that still needs some work!) Let's hope it continue's to work!

About Me!

So I'm pretty new to this whole blogging thing, but I'm giving it a try! To give you a little bit of info on myself- I'm a college student at Mesa State College in Western Colorado with a little bit of an undecided major. I'm bouncing between two extremes here; Radiology or Special Education. I know... it's nuts. I'm in love with the most amazing guy, Paul, and I'm so lucky to have him. He's getting ready to join the Marine Officer Program in May. *sigh* I'm also studying or trying to study the Catholic religion he's been raised with. So far I really enjoy it, but right now I dont have much time for it. Along with school and religious studying, I'm also a part time employee at the VA Hospital. Keeps me busy! But also keeps me out of trouble!
I'm very close to my family and I'm very social. I also love music and tons of movies. I love the beach and warm weather.
Hopefully this gives you a little bit of information on me and what I'm about. See you soon!
